Power Bank

I received this item free from the Spark Reviewer Program. It is a good product. Although the power bank contains a decent flashlight, I have not tested it to see how long the battery would last if the flashlight remained powered on. The power bank, when fully charged, satisfactorily recharges my Samsung S4 or my Nexus 7 tablet. The power bank can be fully charged when plugged into a computer USB port or when plugged into an AC wall adapter. The power bank, although bulky, does fit comfortably in the pocket of my jeans. I recommend this product for purchase. I would rate the quality as excellent. The durability is excellent, it appears to be well built and it's easy to use. If i had to change one thing about the product i would flatten it out a bit. I like the roundness of the product; there are no sharp corners.

This product is helpful for smartphones (or other mobile devices that take micro-USB chargers) that can't last all day without recharging. If you are relatively stationary and have access to an outlet (i.e. at your desk at work), then it will be more energy-efficient to just use a regular charger, but if you are always on the go then this portable powerbank might be helpful. The device is approximately 3 ¾ inches by 1 ¾ inches by ¾ inch (approx. 9.3 cm x 4.4 cm x 2.2 cm); it fits easily in a purse or large pocket, but not so well in a small clutch or in the pocket of a tight-fitting article of clothing. It comes with a cord that's only about 5 inches long (so it won't get tangled or take up too much space) with a USB port at one end and a micro-USB port at the other end. The device has receptacles for both micro-USB (labeled “input”, used to recharge the powerbank) and for USB (labeled “output”, used to charge your phone from the powerbank). It also has a built-in LED flashlight. The front face of the powerbank has 4 blue lights which blink when it is charging. When it is partially charged, a proportional number of lights will stay lit while the remaining lights blink to indicate that the device is charging. When not charging, pushing the button on the side of the powerbank will cause the appropriate number of lights to light up to show you how much of a charge the powerbank holds. (Pushing that same button for 3 seconds turns on the LED flashlight.) You can charge the powerbank through the cord included by plugging it into any active USB receptacle (i.e. on a computer, but the computer has to be turned on). Since I don't always have my computer on for the 3-4 hours required to fully charge the powerbank, I was eager to find an alternative that would allow me to connect the powerbank to a power outlet. A spare micro-USB cell phone charger worked perfectly (or you could use the included cord with a USB adapter). This allows me to charge the powerbank overnight while I'm charging my phone so that both are ready to go in the morning.
