GREAT MACHINE
This is a great machine, if you just take your time and practice before making your actual item. There is a learning curve, but you just need patience and avail yourself with all of the great "how to" videos available thru Singer as well as on YouTube and multiple other sites. I only wish it was compatible with the continuous hoop found with the Quintet.

Love, Love Futura sewing and embroidery machines
I bought this used as an upgrade to my SEQS 6000.I wanted the continuous hoop function. I use both machines frequently and am sad they don't seem to be continuing this machine. I like the Software and also use Embilliance. The person who sold me the machine found it frustrating, but I kept the manual close to hand initially with the SEQ 6000 and this was a easy extension of that knowledge. I love my Futura duo function machines. They embroider well and sew beautifully.

Affordability tempted me to the XL-550. As an experienced sewer, I wanted something to stretch my creativity and with the ability to download from the internet, limitless embroidery designs I am able to do this. I appreciate the newsletter features particularly the applique one as I was struggling to get my head around that one (I'm nearly 70 and it takes me a little longer these days to take things in, lol). However, I now have auto punch licked! I know this is probably the last machine I shall buy and I have to say I started my long sewing life on a Singer so it's appropriate!
