Kantorei, (pronounced kahn-to-rye) whose membership consists of professional and student musicians, is a Missouri non-profit organization in the process of becoming a 501c 3. We are dedicated to educating audiences of all ages in music from the Medieval period through the 21st century through high quality performances by it's professional vocal ensemble, Kantorei Choral Ensemble. Kantorei is largely unconducted which provides a unique connection to the audience, creating an unusually intimate performance and audience experience. Our concerts are all about the voices and the music. A pure listening delight! Kantorei blended exquisitely and saturated the space with a warm, rich sound.--Kristin Shafel, KCMetropolis Simply divine. --Kristin Shafel, KCMetropolis Kantorei Choirs of Greater Kansas City has embarked on the mission of providing choral music opportunities in a rather unique way. Our ensemble offers singers a concentrated but high quality choral experience. We will be performing twice each year. A Christmas concert and a Spring concert will round out each season. We are also chartered to start a high quality children's choir in the future under the Kantorei brand. Kantorei Choral Ensemble is a new, high-level professional choral ensemble in Kansas City that is committed to innovative programming of exceptional music, attention to intonation and nuanced musical detail, and extraordinary choral sound. Kantorei features many of the Metro's finest professional singers as well as some wonderful young talent, who bring a stunning palette of vocal colors, impeccable intonation, and sensitive musical expression. We specialize in concerts that explore the historical links between music of all eras and art, politics, literature and culture, and most importantly, all with an attention to detail and performance practice. Concerts feature a wide variety of excellent music ranging from Schutz to La Bamba, from medieval chant to sophisticated arrangements of traditional folk music. Kantorei combines these in ways that serve the ensemble's broader artistic vision. The groundswell of pure music from these beautiful voices is a rare treat.--Mary Pechar, Lee's Summit Tribune In a city with more than it's fair share of choirs, look for Kantorei to hold it's own and shine through the masses. --Kristin Shafel, KCMetropolis Sopranos: Beth Munce, Amy Krinke, Anna Hacker and Holly Dahn Mezzos: Courtney Williams, Jayme Lawlor, Cassaundra Sutherland, Stacy Tholen Tenors: David Adams, Trent Green, Alan Murray and Chris Munce Bass/Baritones: Sam Green, Nickolas Stoppel, Jon Duncan, Joshua Lawlor Artistic Director: Chris Munce.
