Full of multi-generational pop culture references, gags, and guests, Psych was another great show to come out of the USA network in the early 2000s. While seasons six and seven felt a bit weaker than the earlier ones, season eight came back for a strong finish.
I would rather see shows stop while they're on top of their game than jump the shark and fade into oblivion. I think with the final season of Psych, the writers, cast, and everyone else involved was able to end the story on their own terms. While I miss seeing the camaraderie and antics that each new episode brought, it's comforting to know that I can go back and re-watch any episode with fear of watching a bad episode.
As far as this DVD presentation goes, it's the same as the former Psych Complete season collections. The case is bound like a hardback book, with plastic trays glued on the inside to hold and protect the discs. Discs contain an assortment of deleted scenes, audio commentaries, and a few other special features. Also included in this set (on disc three) is the "Psych: The Musical" episode that was not included with the Season 7 DVD release. The audio and video quality of the transfers is just fineāat least no obvious problems stuck out to me.
