Maxwell House Breakfast Blend is a light roast coffee, which, since it is a light roast it has more caffeine. The more the bean is roasted, the less caffeine it retains. It is not as bitter as some of the dark or bolds roasts, it is much smoother in taste.

My husband uses 2K cups a day, every day. I purchased the great value donut shop for him. However… I drink a cup of coffee or two a week. I don't really care for the great value donut shop coffee because I drink my coffee black and it's just not strong enough for me. I purchased these Maxwell house, dark silk, dark roast K cups for my mother, when she was in town. We absolutely love the flavor. Since we both take black coffee and do not put any sugar or creamer in it, coffee taste is important. I'm too cheap to buy Starbucks or Dunkin' Donuts coffee in the store or at the place of business, I think it's silly and over rated. The Maxwell House is more expensive than the great value K cups, but because I only drink one or 2 cups of coffee a week I will continue to purchase these K cups. I really like the taste and aroma.
