A little too short

At first I didn’t have my lower tube properly seated so I thought this wouldn’t fit. All the experts I knew were not familiar with the proper installation so I was left feeling like this want the right part. It is. But it is stiff to remove the dipstick and I worry that over time something is going to fail. In addition I can’t use the dipstick because it is too short for my application. I have it in the engine from a 1973 C10. When filled with exactly 5 quarts it barely registers on the stick. I ended up ordering a different stick anyway. But it looks awesome!
