I installed a K&N 33-2342 air filter 3-4 months after I got my Honda Civic 1.8L back in 2007 ..... First thing you'll notice is the improved responsiveness of the car. I have put my car in certain abuse of high revving ..... And I must say the filter does not limit such capability. I clean it once a year. I normally oil it about once or twice a year ...... it saves me lots of $$$ (or peso in this part of the world) for a number of preventive maintenance services that requires the replacement of air filter every 10,000KM. The savings from supposedly numerous filter replacement (if OEM) has paid off the cost of my K&N filter and I am currently saving already. But Alas three years has past. Warranty is over thus I must sell my drop-in filter because I need to make way for my SRI fitted with K&N RC-3870 :) Thank you K&N ... easy maintenance. expensive but definitely high quality filtering. Keep it up!

At my son's urging, and due to the price of gas, I purchased a K&N filter for my 2006 Honda Civic LX. I filled the car to the neck of the tank to start, and everytime thereafter.  We stopped first in Redding CA. and filled up.....2.5 gallons, 49 MPG.  I frankly didn't believe it.  We left the next morning for Fresno, I filled up there...7.5 gallons....49 MPG.  I drove 59 MPH, on cruise control the entire trip, and very easy on the gas pedal.  We had a tail wind the entire trip south.  Returning from LA to Medford OR, in one day we drove slightly faster, on cruise, into the wind and averaged 44 MPG home.  The car is rated at 39 MPG highway, the 2008 model's rated lower. I paid for the filter on the first trip.  Why?  How? Will this happen to my Tacoma pickup if I buy another filter?  I believe it now, and apologized to my son for not listening to his success sooner.
