Montsant, 2019. The appearance of Jaume Folch’s dead body, patriarch of a wine dynasty in the proximities of the Scala Dei Cartoixa, puts law enforcement on its toes. The victim’s throat was slashed, and a symbol was engraved on his chest with a knife. Because of the notoriety that comes with the name of the deceased and the cruelty shown in the murder, it required a quick and discreet investigation, which was assigned to the Mossos d'Esquadra inspector, Víctor Sanz Gimeno, aka Sagi.

The Catalan inspector, along with a young journalist who discovered the body and who seems to always be one step ahead, will not only uncover the rivalries within the deceased's family but also the myth of a secret brotherhood that dates back to the fifteenth century.
