They are true to size and the steel toe part doesn’t dig in or make him feel uncomfortable at all he doesn’t even know it’s there. I added an arch support insole and left the original insole because of the extra room these have. Very comfortable now and very light compared to the Skechers they replaced. Only had them for 2 weeks so we will have to see how they hold up
