Excellent Filters, amazing functions

I've noticed that there are no reviews at this time of this product, so I wanted to let you know my thoughts about this product to better assist your in your filter search. I was looking for a 8x20x1 filter to replace my old one that was MERV 8. After a long fight with management, I've come to find out that my apartment complex does not supply them and that the only two companies that sell this size is Nordic Pure and FilterBuy. I first purchased from Filterbuy due to their "fast 24 hour shipping", but after a week went by, it had yet to leave the factory since they were apparently in backorder. I saw NordicPure, and realized how vast their selection was. Now I have heard that NordicPure is on the cheaper end of the spectrum, but my selection was extremely limited. So I still gave it a try. I have dust allergies, and clean air is extremely important for me. So, I was looking for the highest MERV rating but something that wouldn't strain my HVAC unit. I found out from research that 12 is usually the most it can handle, and anything above requires special installation. Knowing how cheaply built the apartment complex I live in is - I went for a MERV 12 rating. Furthermore, I saw that they had one infused with charcoal to absorb VOCs and along with it - smells. I have poor circulation in my apartment, so anytime I cooked, it took hours to get the smell out. Pair that with 100 degree weather in the summer and you get a smelly and sweaty hotbox of a living space. Shipping was very fast, they sent it out within 2 days from Tulsa, OK. It took less time for me to order it and get it, then it did to order and wait through FilterBuy. These filters are excellent, and the air has become feeling cleaner and even crisper. Today I tested out the scent removal capabilities by grilling some sausages in the kitchen, where coincidentally my intake HVAC vent is. I turned on the Fan function on my HVAC and proceeded to smell every vent in the apartment. All of them had no sausage nor cooking smell, and had a teeny tiny soft charcoal scent/feel to it, but you could only smell it if you put your nose 2 inches away from the vent. So the scent removal is fantastic and fully working! A little issue I have is that the MERV rating is listed nowhere except the shipping box and shipping label, even though there is a little square on each filter where the rating is supposed to go. The box doesn't mention charcoal, but you can see that the filters are infused since they are black. Just some nit picky items, but it came off as weird that this information wasn't obviously listed. I love these filters, and only 2/3 the cost of Filterbuy which doesn't have charcoal nor is it a MERV 12 rating... I hope this helps!
