These barstools are not made for home assembly. The screws for the metal rung in the front are too short and I had to buy longer ones. Many of the holes for the bolts were too tights, not even a drill could get the bolt through. I bought 2 sets with 4 stools and I was able to put 2 of them together with no trouble, so it is possible for you to get a set that's not defective, but not guaranteed. The wooden side rails do not fit in flush with the leg. So when it's all put together, you can still see the unfinished wood that should fit into the leg. The entire stool is secured with brackets at the joints. These brackets are 90 degrees and you can see that the back legs are curved, so the brackets can't be flush with the leg and it's unseemly. All put together, these stools look homemade. I buy all my furniture online and I've assembled everything from beds to curios, and I've never had such a bad experience. The seat back and seat are as beautiful as shown in the pictures. If you're not a stickler for detail, they're an ok deal. I'm not sure how well they'll hold up over time given the issue with the bolts - perhaps that's what the brackets are for.
