Worth it

I made the mistake of buying a store brand potting mix last year. Never again! This soil is worth every penny and especially at the great price at Sam's Club sells it for. My flowers grow exceptionally well with this soil.

this potting mix is great, the bag i just received is damaged. appears to have been opened and re sealed. putting damaged or out of date items on a curb side pickup keeps WM from writing them out of their inventory even when a return is requested, still a better situation for WM.

Poor water retention.

This now has mulch bits in it and when plants are potted the soil compacts and does not absorb water! I understand mulch is being used instead of peat, but it's not as good a product as it's previous blend. See that last photo of the soil in the trowel! THATS what it's supposed to look like AND IT DOES NOT. Wont be buying again.

We're sorry to read about your disappointment with Miracle-Gro Potting Mix with Plant Food and appreciate your feedback. Most of our soils, especially potting mixes and garden soils, are made of composted forest products and contain very little if any actual soil. Composted forest products provide high organic content and nutrients without the concern for soil compaction which often occurs with potting mixes composed primarily of actual topsoil. The coarser material allows for air to reach the roots of the plant which improves plant performance. While small pieces of bark and twigs are intentional components of our growing media, including potting soil, garden soil, lawn soil, topsoil, etc., you should not find large pieces of wood or bark. Soils and soil amendment products may dry out too much in shipping or storage. which can make them become naturally water repellent, due to the peat moss and organic materials that are an important part of the soil mixture. Water can be slowly added back to the soil by pouring what you need into a bucket or tub and slowly stirring water into it, then using the product for it's intended application. We want you to be confident in our products. For this reason, we offer a product guarantee to our consumers. At your earliest convenience, please reach out to us at 888-295-6902 if we can further assist.
