Mato & Hash Men’s 60/40 Crewneck T-Shirt

As the subject says, it's a really nice T-Shirt - buy it. OK, That first sentence was for those of you who rarely read beyond the first sentence or two of a review. And, no, I don't work for them - or any manufacturer or retailer. So feel free to read on for a decent review of a decent product. Just in case you don't go beyond the first paragraph, BEFORE you buy one, make sure you get one that's a size larger than you wear. Why? Because (like almost every 60/40 T-Shirt material) this one will shrink a bit in the wash. As the previous sentence states, this shirt is made from 60% cotton and 40% polyester - and cotton, as we all know, is subject to shrinkage in the typical washer/dryer laundry. By that I mean, warm/cold wash/rinse cycle and full cycle (AKA hot) dryer. To prove my point, see the two attached pics - the first is unwashed, the second is right out of the dryer. Although you probably can't see the numbers on the yard stick and ruler, you can see the distance from the grout lines in the tile floor. To be precise, the initial measurements were 30" in length (top to bottom) and 4" short of the right grout line. Pic two shows a 29" length and a 5" shortage from the grout. In other words, the shirt shrank 1" in both directions after being laundered. (BTW, this was a men's XL size shirt.) Of note is the fact that this multi-directional shrinkage is a bit unusual - the typical T-Shirt will usually exhibit the most shrinkage in length, and a bit less in width. OK, other "nice" aspects of the shirt... it's lightweight (much lighter than a typical T-Shirt) and it's (for lack of a better word) "fluffier" - almost a knit sweater or cashmere feel. So... bottom line, would I recommend it to others - absolutely - just select one size up if you intend to launder it like most folks.

The Mato & Hash Men's Crewneck T-Shirt is exactly what the company states it is. It's very soft and lightweight. There isn't a tag in the back of the shirt making it comfortable on the neck. One bad side of that was there weren't any washing instructions. The company says that they are prewashed so they don't shrink as much or fade like other t-shirts. I wash it in cold water by itself since I chose a dark color and tumble dry. The material is 60% cotton and 40% polyester. I really like the green color I chose. It looks like a military green and gives the short sleeve shirt a classy look. I recommend these t-shirts for any man who likes to wear t-shirts. Mato & Hash make a quality product that is far superior to other t-shirts on the market.
