As soon as possible, wash thoroughly and change into clean clothing. Direction for Use, it is a violation of Federal Law to use this product in a manner inconsistent with its labeling. Do not allow adults, children or pets to enter the treated area until sprays have dried or dusts have settled. Do not apply this product in a way that will contact adults, children, or pets, either directly or through drift. Specific Instructions, Sewer Treatment - Root Destroyer (Note, Do not apply Root Kill through sink or tub drains as it will corrode the metal drains. Note, This Root Kill added to an active 300 gallon septic tank at 2 pounds per treatment will temporaitly reduce bacterial action, but it will return to normal approxiamtely 15 days after treatment. Trees and shrubbery growing near a treated line normally are not affected due to only a small portion of their roots being in contact with the Root Kill. The crystals kills only those roots inside the leach line. Note, Do not use as a sewer additive where prohibited by State Law. State law prohibits the use of this product in sewage systems in the State of Connecticut. Not for sale or use in California Countries of Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Solano and Sonoma for root control in sewers. Not for salt or use in septic systems in the States of Florida, Massachusetts, and State of Washington. Note, For all sewer line treatment applications do not use more than 2 lbs Root Kills (0.5 lbs metallic copper) per applicaiton. Minimum retreatment interval is 6 months. Per EPA guidelines, do not exceed 8 lbs Root Kill (2 lbs metallic copper) per year.), Root Control General Information, Plant roots can penetrate through small cracks and poorly sealed joints of sewer lines. If not controlled, these small roots will continue to grow larger in number causing breakage, reduced flow and eventually, flow stoppage. Root Kill has been known to be an effective means to control roots in residential sewers. Residential or Household Sewer Systems, When a reduced water flow is first noticed, and root growth is thought to be the cause, treat with Root Kill, It is important no to wait until a stoppage occurs because some water flow is necessary to move the Root Kill to the area of the root growth. Usually, within 3 to 4 weeks, after rootshave accumulated sufficient copper sulfate the roots will die and begin to decay and water flow should increase . As the roots regrow, follow-up treatments with copper sulfate will be required. Applications may be made each year in the spring after plant growth begins, or during late summer or early fall, or anytime a reduced water flow, thought to be caused by root growth, occurs. Apply 2 pounds of Root Kill to household sewers. Add Root Kill to sewer lines by pouring 1/2 pound increments into the toilet bowl nearest the sewer line and flush, repeat this process until recommended dose has been added, or remove cleanout plug and pour entire recommended quantity directly into the sewer line. Replace the plug and flush the toilet several times. Repeat in 6 or 12 months interval, if necessary. Root Control in Septic Tanks, Leach lines and leach Line Pipes, The majority of the copper sulfate will settle in the septic tank itself and little will pass into the leach line. To treat leach line pipes, add 2 pounds of Root Kill to the distribution box located between the septic tank and the leach lines. To achieve effective root control in the leach lines it is necessary to transfer Root Kill from the septic tank to the leach lines. A cleanout plug opening may need to be installed if the distribution box does not have an opening to the leach lines. Repeat in 6 or 12 month intervals, if necessary. Storage and Disposal, Do not contaminate water, food or feed by storage or disposal. Pesticide Storage, store in original container and place in locked storage area. Pesticide Disposal & Container Handling, nonrefillable container. Do not reuse or refill this container. If empty, place in trash or offer for recycling, if available. If partly filled call your local solid waste agency fo disposal instructions. Never place unused product down any indoor or outdoor drain.
