Beautiful

I am so happy with this Dutch oven! It's beautiful and holds so much. I washed it as instructed and prepared it for soup.it heats evenly and my broccoli cheddar soup didn't stick. The lid had an extra lid handle included. One knob or handle was silver and shaped like a flower. The other one was basic.. The pretty silver one is nice if you want to serve from the pot. I installed the plastic one. Overall, a very nice pot

Pioneer Woman Timeless Beauty

This dutch oven/pot is absolutely beautiful. The color and the detail of the design is truly a work of art. I loved the daisy knob and did not switch to the plainer knob. I cooked in it and my seafood chowder turned out beautifully. The only drawback is this pot has some serious weight to it. The lid alone takes some effort to lift. This product is not good for people who have arthritis or a weak grip.

Stove to table

This came on time and very well packed. Nothing broken or chipped. This is my first Dutch oven so I am going through a lot of recipes suited for the Dutch oven. I’m also learning how to use and clean it. That said, I couldn’t wait once I got my hands on it and cooked several items in the first few days. There is a different feel to cooking in such a heavy pot and also a little bit of learning curve to go through. That is because it builds lot of steam and retains heat for a longer time. It cooks well as heat is spread evenly. It is important to note that the pot is very heavy to handle and if you cannot easily lift heavy objects then this might not be ideal for you, especially when you are washing it in the sink. The size is pretty good to cook for a large family. It has a nonstick surface but I have noticed food sticking to it when cooked on high heat. It is much better suited to cooking food in medium flames and it can retain heat because of the tight and heavy lid for longer than other regular pots. It is good that this Dutch oven can be used on gas or glass cook top as I have glass cook top Now back to my cooking: I wanted to try almost everything in Dutch oven as I had heard so much about it, so I made soup, chilli, deep fried chicken drumsticks in it, used it as a steamer and even baked some bread in it. Everything turned out very well except frying. I guess that was a bad idea to begin with. The best result I got were with the soup, the bread and, of course, chilli. The flame/heat level should be medium or slightly higher (if needed) otherwise the food will stick at the bottom and cleaning would become quite a task. I would actually suggest that you cook on low heat most of the time. I am using the silicon spatula in it to avoid scratching enamelled surface. When using a Dutch oven always try to cook on medium heat at the very least. I wouldn’t recommend the metal mesh or stainless steel scrubs on it as that would scratch the enamel; the best one to use is the scour pads (green ones) for washing it. If food does get stuck then I put some warm soapy water and let it sit for a while before scrubbing it clean. The cooking time is faster then any other pot. I haven’t put it inside the cabinet yet because I have been cooking in it everyday — love it.
