so far, there has not been a power outage to see how well these bulbs work, but I am confident that they will work as advertised. I switched 6 regular bulbs I had for these battery operated bulbs, in strategic places in my house where I spend most of my time and know they would be best for me in a power outage. They are supposed to stay on for about 6 hours, which is sufficient in a short power outage, giving you time to come up with other solutions. If you are fearful of falling in the dark, these are for you. They are a very practical, economical way to handle a power outage for anyone!

I wish I had noticed the temperature rating before I picked these, because I like "soft" lights and these definitely are not soft colored. But they do work and they are a great value, so I'm keeping them. I haven't had the chance to use them during a power outage, so I can't comment on how long they last without power yet.
