Zoo Med ReptiSun 10.0 Mini Compact Fluorescent Lamp

Perfect for all desert and basking reptiles. 10% UVB output, 30% UVA output - full spectrum. This lamp uses a special UVB transmitting quartz glass for maximum UVB penetration. Cool burning compact fluorescent bulbs screw into standard threaded sockets, eliminating the need for a separate ballast. Lamp can be oriented either vertically or horizontally in your reptile hood or clamp lamp fixture. UVB emissions help prevent or reverse metabolic bone disease and UVA increases feeding, mating, and other natural behaviors.

The type of fixture you will use will determine the correct distance of the lamp to your reptiles basking site. Use the following descriptions and chart to determine the correct set up for your reptile. _x000D_Zoo Meds Naturalistic Terrarium Hoods: _x000D_These hoods allow for the lamp to be positioned horizontally over the terrarium. The 12â€ Naturalistic Terrarium Hood can hold one ReptiSun 10.0 UVB Mini Compact Fluorescent Lamp. The 18â€ Naturalistic Terrarium Hood can hold one ReptiSun 10.0 UVB Mini Compact Fluorescent Lamp and one Dalight Blue or Nightlight Red heat lamp. These hoods are designed to be placed on top of terrariums about the screen cover. _x000D_Zoo Meds Mini Deep Dome Lamp Fixtures: _x000D_Zoo Meds Mini Deep Dome Lamp Fixtures are designed for use with your ReptiSun 10.0 UVB Mini Compact Fluorescent Lamp. The polished aluminum finish inside the reflector increases the distance that UVB will penetrate in your terrarium. The Deep Dome Lamp Fixture must be securely suspended above your terrarium by the metal hanger attached to the fixture near the ceramic socket. Zoo Meds adjustable Reptile Lamp Stand is recommended for safely suspending these fixtures above your terrarium. _x000D_Notes on Screen Covers: _x000D_Screen covers on terrariums significantly reduce the amount of UVB that reaches your reptiles basking site. As the screen mesh gets finer more UVB is blocked or filtered. CAUTION: Be sure that the lamp fixture is securely suspended about the enclosure in a manner that will prevent the fixture from falling into the enclosure. _x000D_Application Chart: _x000D_Lamp Arrangement/Terrarium Set-Up â€“ Recommended Operating Range* _x000D_ReptiSun Terrarium Hood (12â€ or 18â€) â€“ 6 to 9 inches (15-23cm)_x000D_Mini Deep Dome Lamp Fixtures â€“ 5 to 8 inches (13-20cm)_x000D_*Notes on Operating Range:_x000D_The operating range is the distance from the lamp to the reptiles basking site. In order for your reptile to benefit from the UVB you must provide your reptile with the appropriate temperature zone. Be sure to provide an appropriate temperature and UVB gradient. This will allow your reptile to adjust their distance to heat and UVB exposure. CAUTION: Always have your lamp at least four inches away from your reptiles. Consult a good book to learn about the requirements of your species. _x000D_When to Replace your Lamp: _x000D_Your lamp will provide beneficial UVB for a period of 12 months. After 12 months the lamp should be replaced with a new ReptiSun 10.0 UVB Mini Compact Fluorescent Lamp. Before you turn your lamp on for the first time date the base of the lamp to remind yourself when to replace it.
