The best canister vacuums are made by Miele
The C3 Calima is a wonderful canister vacuum by Miele. I have used and owned many canisters from the German manufacturer, both in Germany and here in the US. The only disappointment was one made in the US who lasted only 3 years, as I had to replace the motor unit. Since then I made sure that I bought only vacuums made in Germany, or those that used German made parts. I bought the last vacuum 7 years ago, and it is still in top notch condition. I bought the Calima for a new vacation home. While I do not know, of course, much about the longtime reliability of the Calima, it performs superbly sofar.
