But there isroom in the discussion for those whose profession at least is to learn and to tell how things come to pass in the sphere of human affairs for the scripture of history has not been written in vain, and we may be quite sure that our dream Of a League of Nations will be the baseless fabric of a vision unless it is woven of the threads of human experience upon the loom Of past achievement.
