Not even remotely accurate

after preheating my three burner grill for 20 minutes it told me it was 300°. a week later I walked outside ambient temperature was 100° and the grill was in the Sun and the thermometer read 500 degrees. even though I can place my hand directly on the metal without any kind of a severe burn. so again totally inaccurate
