G/flex 650

The West System G/Flex 650 2-Part Resin/Hardener Toughened Epoxy System (4oz) is a toughened, versatile, liquid epoxy for permanent waterproof bonding of fiberglass, ceramics, metals, plastics, damp and difficult-to-bond woods. With a modulus of elasticity of 150,000 PSI, it is a bit more flexible than standard epoxies and polyester, but much stiffer than adhesive sealants. This gives G/flex 650 the ability to make structural bonds that can absorb the stress of expansion, contraction, shock, and vibration. It is ideal for bonding dissimilar materials. It can be modified with WEST SYSTEM fillers and additives and used to wet-out fiberglass tapes and fabrics. Mixed at a 1:1 ratio, G/flex 650 gives you 45 minutes of working time at 72°F. It reaches an initial cure in 7 to 10 hrs and full cure in 24 hrs.

G/flex Epoxy Consistencies

The G/flex epoxies are available in two consistencies:

  • G/flex 650 Epoxy is a versatile easily-modified liquid epoxy. It is packaged in the Aluminum Boat Repair Kit or individually in a pair of 4-ounce bottles. This epoxy is a popular choice for aluminum boat repairs.
    • 650-8 4 fl oz resin, 4 fl oz hardener.
  • G/flex 655 Epoxy Adhesive is a convenient pre-thickened epoxy. It is packaged in the Plastic Boat Repair Kit or individually in a pair of 4-ounce squeeze tubes. This epoxy is a popular choice for plastic boat repairs.
    • 655-8 4.2 fl oz resin, 4.2 fl oz hardener.

Specialty Epoxies

WEST SYSTEM Specialty Epoxies are cure-compatible with each other and also with the 105 System. If you wish to blend one with another, first mix on ratio the resin and hardener from one of West System's specialty epoxies, then add it to mixed on-ratio resin and hardener from another. For example, to speed the cure of 105/205 you may mix a batch of this at the correct (5:1 ? one pump each with West System calibrated mini pumps) then blend with mixed 1:1 ratio G/5 Five-Minute Adhesive or G/flex Epoxy.
