Ultimate Whips include cast aluminum rocker base with cushionner & set screw to compensate for most tidal fluctuations. The solid fiberglass rod is manufactured in multi-stages with an exclusive cross-wound fiberglass for extra rigidity unobtainable with solid rod alone. This multi-stage manufacturing gives these whips the necessary strength and flex to retain the boats’ position. Exclusive “Plug & Socket” design for quick and easy separation. Each whip includes a functional tip and a tie-off cleat for easier access to your boat. Stainless steel mounting hardware included.

Works great in changing tides
Despite the odd size these arrived in 2 days as promised, I half expected it to take longer. Price was better than anywhere else too. Thanks Walmart! As for performance - I use this for a SeaRay SPX190 docked in a busy lagoon feeding a bay in NJ. Tide typically changes by 2 feet, sometimes 3-4, which sometimes means thee bases are underwater (salt water). Hasnt hurt them a bit. The bouncy base works great, takes much of the stress away from the whips themselves. Theyve made it 4 months and multiple big storms and work great, Id happily buy them again. They look more sturdy / heavy duty than any other whip Ive seen - especially the base. Yes theyre two pieces, but the top section sits so far into the lower section that Im not at all worried.
