Disney Channel Hits: Take 1 (Includes DVD)
Key item features
Fun City! Here's the best music from the best shows on the Disney Channel -- and it's a blast from start to finish. Bringing together a blend of pure pop, R&B, rap, dance and more, and giving it all that pep that a younger audience wants, Disney Channel Hits: Take 1 is entertainment to the max. There are also a few previously unreleased songs among the 15 tracks, which make this dessert even sweeter: not to mention some of the channel's catchiest theme songs. Oh, and there are some big, big names lending their talents to the album too.
What better way to blast off than with the "Lizzie McGuire Theme Song"? Jangly, hooky and made for dancing, it's a mix of '60s pop and new-millennium zest that's totally infectious. It sets the stage for the fun yet to come. Naturally, when you hear the name Lizzie McGuire you can expect pop princess Hilary Duff to be nearby. Everybody's favorite golden girl comes to the party with "I Can't Wait," a shuffling, alt-pop number that will have you singing along with the chorus. Think Pink and Avril. And think Hilary Duff!
Raven, from That's So Raven, brings her urban stylings to the mix with no less than three great songs, beginning with the show's theme: a dynamic R&B-rap blend with energizing vocals. Meantime, "Supernatural (Crystal Ball Mix)" is a super dance joint combining rap, soul, disco and electronic elements. It's one of the album's best tracks! For the number "Shine," Raven grabs a Ricky Martin-esque salsa feel and shows her vocal versatility.
There's just so much here to enjoy. Christy Carlson Romano rolls out the techno trimmings with "Say The Word" from Kim Possible, while Ron Stoppable (Will Friedle) and Rufus (Nancy Cartwright) rap out with the cute and bouncy "The Naked Mole Rap" from the same show. Then there's a great rendition of the Jackson 5's classic "Enjoy Yourself" (from The Proud Family) by L.P.D.Z. The tempo is up up up and, well, it's simply irresistible.
Other ultra-bright highlights include the boogie-woogie and brass of "Even Stevens Theme Song," the tropical vibe of "Aloha, E Komo Mai" from Jump5, and the superhero pop of "Phil of The Future Theme Song." Oh, and let's not forget "The Proud Family Theme Song" by no lesser talents than Solange and Destiny's Child! Yep, there's energy galore here. And what's more, the album comes with a bonus DVD that gives you the visual experience of five of the tracks.
Young music fans and Disney Channel viewers are going to love this album. If you're down, it will pick you up. If you're up, it will send you into orbit! Grab a copy and let the fun begin!
