I've been a hardcore NIN fan since early on in my life, and The Downward Spiral is very special to me - it's one of my favorite things in this world. While I really do love everything Trent makes in its own way (don't get me wrong!) sometimes I still missed the emotional rawness of TDS (The Downward Spiral). It resonates with me in a profound way that I can't quite describe. So, not that I wish Trent would make more music like that or anything, I'm happy for him to do whatever he wants - but sometimes I wished I could have at least one more CD that was somewhat like The Downward Spiral was. Well, I have to say, the debut album of How To Destroy Angels is the first time I heard another CD that gave me anything near the cathartic feeling TDS does. If you have been holding off on giving HTDA a listen, trust me, you have nothing to lose by giving this album a try. You'll probably be pleasantly surprised! I know I sure was!
