Looks aren't everything...

This is a very pretty call, the wood color varies...I was expecting the dark variation like what was pictured....but that is not what you get, because all wood is different. They used the dark wood to show off the intricate laser engraving, you will get whatever they reach and get from the production run. The laser cut turkey is being the glass face, so when you scuff up the face to actual use it you will not be able to see the pretty laser cut Turkey. I thought I could just ruff up a small section and still see the intricate part but by the time I actually found the sweet spot you cannot see the Turkey at all. The strikers are good, the thin striker that is denser seems to work the best. I was a little disappointed with the sound of this call, the only way to describe it to you is to relate it to a stereo speaker....this call has a sound of a cheap plastic speaker instead of a good large magnet wooden speaker. But then it is glass not slate, but it still should have a crisp cadence. It is a little light feeling in the hand. This call would be good for a beginner, because he would be proud of it because it is pretty and not seasoned enough to know what a really good call sounds like. Primos makes a different version of the River's Cut that is in the $30 dollar range the is better, still get the good strikers
