First of all, this is a CRAZY GOOD value for such a long length of good quality wide-angle (F5 type) LEDs with a UL-listed power plug! At $22 for 141 feet and 400 lights, I couldn't find anything *close.* If you're making the switch to LED, these could get you there with very little hit to the wallet!
You can string 3 of these together on one plug for 394 feet of 1200 lights (10" plug 131' lights 4" end 131' lights 4" end 131' lights), with a nice pattern of red, blue, yellow, green, and violet. One controller should control all the sets together, though I've not personally hooked them up to test.
It's important to know what you're getting, though. I picked these lights also because of the fact that the initial listing picture seemed to have violet LEDs and NO blue LEDs, which I hoped would help with the "cold" feeling of LEDs vs incandescents that many people complain about (this is a much more complicated issue, but I decided to delete the multi-paragraph explanation for your sanity :) ). Alas, I believe this was just photo editing as the blues are very present (in addition to the violets which are much appreciated) and the cold color temperature effect lingers. If you're not looking for the nostalgic red/yellow tinge of incandescents, you can disregard this entirely: these lights look great.
Most annoyingly for me as an electrical engineer, these lights do have a *slight* flicker that *very* sensitive individuals might notice at the corner of their eyes as their eyes move. THIS IS MUCH BETTER than the really bad 60Hz flicker that other LED strings have. It's not too bad considering how many LEDs are being powered, and they ARE being rectified as they're operating at 120Hz, but I would prefer a decent capacitor—it's a very cheap addition to manufacture, and there's plenty of room in the mode selection box. I believe that the same company that produced the wall supply even makes DC versions.
It's critical to note that these "problems" are present in virtually ALL mass-market Christmas LEDs on the market. The only other thing worth noting, is that these are not consumer-removable/replaceable bulbs; I don't expect them to burn out or anything, but if you happen to have a home with such unstable power that you're burning out LEDs occasionally, you wouldn't have any recourse here.
So these strings are still an incredible value (as long as they're ~$22 for 141 feet!) and absolutely worth going for if you're looking for long LED strings!
Pictures: (1) Back of box, details (2) wall adapter and mode selector (3) unlit bulbs and string (4) lit string segment (5) a 0.6 second picture of the lights being spun in a circle to show the flicker that you cannot see otherwise: 120Hz (turns on 120 times per second), and is on for about 70% of the time—that's very good and better than tons of crappy LED strings.
