Not A Dependable Drip Pan. $1200 cost loss
I had this installed new about 2.5 years ago. I came in the house from work, and saw a 1x3 foot leak coming in droplets . I crawl into the attic and see a drip coming out of the pan. I look at the amount of water in the pan. The water was about 1/3 inches on the left side in the picture. It was enough to have 1 towel absorbed in water. Then i look at the edge of the cones and see cracks around each one. Then i see another crack coming from one of the cones into the flat portion of the pan. Remember it is 2.5 years old, and costs about $800 for the ac guy to replace, and $400 for the paint guy. Zoom in on the atached pic. The part is warrantied, but the service is not.
