The second release in a 3-part reissue series is the 2001 HOWLS FROM THE HILLS. Recorded in a boom barn in Indiana the sound becomes fuller without being overcomplicated. Live, organic essence and encompassing ambient guitar played in psych-funk sludge, sparse blues-folk ballads to distorted barbiturate space-rock Dead Meadow becomes it's own. Re-mastered from the original tapes by Greg Calbi of Sterling Sound who has worked with the likes of John Lennon and Led Zeppelin.
