It is with great regret that we received the news of the sudden passing on December 31, 2018 of Dean Ford, aka Thomas McAleese, the former Marmalade lead vocalist & responsible for countless hit songs over the latter 60s and early 70s era, most notably the iconic ballad quot;Reflections Of My Life, quot; which he co-wrote with Junior Campbell. That song lives in the hearts of many and was a soothing lament for many a Vietnam veteran. He had just recently released a solo double CD. Fernando Perdomo, his fellow stage musician and producer of his previous CD, Feel My Heartbeat, recalls quot;Every vocal Dean did oozed with love and tenderness. I will miss his kindness and warmth. A joy to work with and an inspiration. quot; Dean was born on September 5, 1946. Dean Ford was a Scottish singer and songwriter best known for his time as lead vocalist and frontman of the pop group Marmalade, who prior to 1966, had been called Dean Ford & the Gaylords. As the lead vocalist of the U. K. group, Marmalade, Ford contributed to their eight Top Ten U. K. hits, throughout the 60s and early 70s, as altogether they had twelve songs in the Top 30. The group's biggest International song was the now standard, quot;Reflections of My Life, quot; which Dean co-wrote and is re-visited here as a tasteful acoustic number. With lyrics covering all aspects of his life, Dean is finally able to relate the truth of his journey through these quot;reflectionsquot; of his life. A wide variety of genres to enjoy.
