The exact amount of food your dog requires will need to be adjusted according to age, activity and environment. But a good place to start is with these guidelines for an average, active, adult dog fed once daily.MAKING THE SWITCH TO PRO PLANAlthough you'll be anxious to see the difference Pro Plan can make in your dog, please allow 7 - 10 days to ease the transition from your dog's current food. Each day, simply feed a little less of the previous food and a little more Pro Plan until you're feeding Pro Plan exclusively. This gradual transition will help avoid dietary upsets. We started using this food for our grand-dog (Lab) when our Vet suggested he may be allergic to chicken. When we started using it his allergies improved immensely. I highly recommend the food, but it seems expensive in comparison to similar brands. I'm guessing Purina sets the pricing, not Walmart.

Monte was looking a bit pudgy, to us, when we switched him to the Proplan senior food. He likes it and his weight has adjusted to it. Our vet was pleased to see his svelte figure and all of his tests show he is in great shape for a ten year old cockapoo. He likes the Salmon flavored sensitive stomach recipe.
