Nice inserts, but appeared to be returned item.

Just the right softness (medium) for my pillow covers, but the inserts had visible staining (small areas, but obvious) and they came in an unsealed plastic bag in the shipping box. Otherwise would have given them 5 stars and recommended them. Kept them anyway because they were going into fairly thick pillow covers (and I was feeling too lazy to return them on principle, although I should have), but I think I paid for a new product and didn't get it. So were they "sterilized" again before shipping them to me?? Just wondering.
