Acme Furniture Malachi Coffee Table w/Lift Top, Walnut (80254)

Great table for a great price. I'm replacing a lift top table because two of the wheels came off. This table is not as long but I love the color and the storage. It came damaged on the corner and with no instructions, but it's not the maker fault and not bad enough to return.

First off...when I opened the packaging it appeared the Styrofoam on the inside had sustained some damage and blew into a billion tiny statically charged pieces that stuck to everything. I then returned to walmart and bought a vacuum to clean up the mess. Upon assembling the product I realized the vinyl straps used to hold down the granite counterweight had completely come apart. I don't know how many years worth of sunlight they were exposed to but the fibers literally came apart in my fingers. I replaced the worn out parts with leather strapping since I'm sure it's better than anything I would have received from the maker for repairs. The table is nice and heavy, solid and good looking. It also had damage to the veneer on the bottom board that I had to repair with a wood marker. Overall it's nice but the condition I received mine in was deplorable. I cannot recommend the product if that's the shape they arrive in.
