This hone is great. I had a hone for decades. I had no idea they needed to be replaced. I replaced it with a diamond cut hone. I could feel the knife going over it and was thrilled to know it was doing something. It stopped doing that quickly so I bought this one. The knife feels very smooth going over it, much like my old worn hone, so I was concerned. That concern quickly disappeared because my knife now feels just as sharp as when just get it back from being sharpened.
