Love the lamp, but assembly instructions poor.

I have assembled many lamps as a landlord that rents out bedrooms. Furnishing a new house for the living room I ordered two of these lamps. The assembly instructions were a joke. So I tried assembling it, plugged it in, and it blew a circuit. Unassembled it, wrapped all of the wiring I could reach with electrical tape and reassembled it. Plugged it in to a different outlet. It's sparked again. I assembled the second one systematically from the top down and it worked just fine. So I'm re-ordering. All I can say is the instructions need to be improved if the manufacturers want to avoid having more returned lamps. But, love the lamp.
