Endorsed by architects, historians and our family!

I'm a US expat living in a 1928 Art Deco home in London, England. The home is listed and protected by the UK Government due to the particularly important example of mid-1930s British Art Deco architecture and due to an historic event that occurred on the premises during the London Blitz attacks of World War II. My family is very appreciative of the architecture and the historic significance of the home. I also wish to live in the 21st century with modern updates that respect and honour the intent of the architect while allowing our interior designer to take a fresh approach to interpreting Art Deco for a family home. We were extremely pleased when our planning design proposal was approved by the Historic England committee. They were highly complimentary of the choice of three Kichler / Elstead City Lights chandeliers in the conservatory as a prime example of affordable, high-quality contemporary lighting that reinforce the home's heritage value for present and future generations. They made special mention of the City Lights design references to a Mondriaan painting to be placed the conservatory as a clever juxtaposition of iconic modern art and excellent industrial design. The remodelling and restoration is now complete and the chandeliers contribute to a sense of arrival when entering the conservatory. When hosting guests, we frequently receive compliments on the beautifully executed interior lighting. The pitch-perfect transitional design of the City Lights collection is sincerely appreciated. Kudos to the industrial design team at Kichler!

Poor design

Attractive looking but poorly designed lamp usage issues. (7) 50 watt halogen lamps generates enormous amounts of heat which is not exactly needed here in Florida. Tried replacing halogen lamps with several available LED's all of which would not work because the screw on glass shroud/diffuser was designed only marginally larger than the halogen bulb. The diffuser is too short to handle any available LED's. No help from 2 levels of service to find an alternative. Light already installed and unreturnable. Couldn't even tell me the size of the thread to help find or make an extension. Beautiful light but very shortsighted lamp design.
