Workhorse of a microwave

I bought my first Sharp microwave of this model in 2003 and it worked consistently until the end of June this year, 2025. I had remodeled my kitchen 10 years ago and had that microwave built in. I was worried that I would never find a microwave to fit the space and was thrilled to learn the same model was still available. I bought it quickly, it was delivered and installed and I'm hoping this will be the same workhorse as my previous one was and I won't have to replace it until 2047.

This purchase replaced a similar Sharp we purchased 20+ years ago. This new one is excellent and works great. It has new options not available in the older one. The great thing is that it fit perfectly in the area between wall cabinets and above the countertop.

Replaced over range 15 inch high space.

We had a microwave which had been installed in the late 90s. No one makes a 15 inch high microwave anymore to fit and we have a granite backsplash which we didn't want to have to cut to fit the 16-17 inch models available today for over the range. The width on the Sharp was 24 inches wide instead of the 30 wide we needed, but I think I can find a way to cover the gaps on both sides of the microwave. Putting it up was difficult because we do not do home repairs often. The sharp works fine, seems secure and I have more space over my stovetop than before. By the way this model has two lights underneath which work great.
