It's A Great Game With A Learning Curve.

I'm not sure what other people are on about. Sure there's trolls, but that's any game. This game is a really fun adventure like no other game i've ever played. You practice teamwork, and if you don't, it won't go well for you. There's battles of other ships and skeletons, the water is beautiful, and its just innocent fun for any age. Having said that, i wish there was more of a tutorial at first to learn how to do the basics. You basically have to rely on watching others and do as they do. Also, I'm hoping in the future there will be ways to enhance your weapons (not just for looks, like it is currently). All-in-all I love the game even with it's quirks, lack of upgrades, fortnite like graphics, and those skeletons that just won't die! I can't wait to see what the future DLC will be for this game!!

Hey there, we're glad to hear that you're enjoying sailing the seven seas as a swashbuckling pirate in Sea of Thieves! As you say, teamwork with other players offers the optimal experience in the game, though going solo is an option for those who enjoy a challenge. Thank you for your feedback, and we hope you continue your plundering ways for a long time to come. --Chuck, Xbox Customer Care

Sea of Thieves

This was hands-down my favorite game of 2018, and I still play it more than anything else I picked up over the holidays (Battlefield V, Red Dead II). It’s NOT for everyone. The learning curve is steep and there’s nothing to stop griefers (jerks who steal from other players) from beating up on you day one. And the only thing you’re working for is new skins for your ship and outfits/accessories for your character. Obtaining the game’s psuedo-end state of “Pirate Legend” will take hundreds of hours. So why do I love it so much? I’ve never played a game that came with such a great sense of adventure. You never know what is going to happen, good or bad, and for a game that has little to no story line built in, I have countless stories to tell that are uniquely mine. As an example the other day I was playing solo and had a boatload of valuable treasure on my, uh, boat when a group of griefers (jerks trying to rob me) started chasing me down. I ran for in and took off with a direct tail-wind (gives you the best speed). As I got to the perimeter of the map I realized I was running out of room, but as luck would have it there was a computer-controlled skeleton ship hanging out by one of the islands. I went past the island and then cut to the west, hoping to draw the griefers into the skeleton ship. It worked, as I could hear cannon fire and all sorts of fighting breaking loose from where I had lost sight of them. I reversed my direction to throw them off entirely and was chucking to myself when the water turned dark and a Kraken surfaced. I fought with all I had but I had picked a bigger ship (brigantine) to play solo and I couldn’t keep up with repairs and trying to get away. I lost my ship and everything on it, but had a blast along the way.
