Philips Avent Ultra Soft Pacifier, Months, 4 Pieces

The Philips Avent Ultra Soft Pacifiers receive an A+ from this house. This particular pacifier is for 6-18m which is a great range. I happened to receive them for my 16 month old. She loves her paci's and I'm happy that this one is orthodontic so that I have one less thing to worry about. It comes in a two pack, nicely stowed inside of a carrying/ sterilizer case. This case is sturdy and clasps together firmly. It's small enough to tuck away into your purse or diaper bag. And when the time arrives and you feel that the pacifier is too dirty, all you have to do is fill the case to the water fill line, place your pacifiers inside and microwave for 3 minutes. Simple as that. I like how easy and simple it is to disinfect and I can feel good about giving it back to my daughter. I have handwashed and thrown the pacifier's into the dishwasher. I realize now that it appears they weren't supposed to go into the dishwasher, but i'm happy to report that they made it out safely. When it comes to handwashing I actually was slightly displeased. And this is my only complaint. The water and soap easily filled up the inside "nipple" part of the pacifier. But upon squeezing the soft silicone, it came out easily. So I really wasn't too upset. After the first wash, I gave it to my daughter. She happily accepted it and went on her way. The packaging boasts 98% nipple acceptance which is actually pretty true for us. Philips Avent were some of the only pacifier's she would use back in infancy. And they led us to be able to use other pacifiers. I really like that these pacifier's are for 6-18 month olds. That is a great range of ages to be able to purchase it for. But the packaging does state that you have to replace it after 4 weeks for safety and hygiene reasons. It is touted as ultra soft and I must agree, it is very soft silcone. The FlexiFit shield is also true to its name. It's not a hard tough plastic, but very easy to move and flex. My daughter doesn't have problems with irritation from pacifier's, but I do imagine this pacifier could help those that do. She's currently working on her 5th tooth and drooling like a water factory. There is no redness or irritation. We don't have the problem to begin with, but I can say that it hasn't created an irritation problem. And may have perhaps helped, since she is producing alot of drool. As an added benefit and one that I especially love, the nipple part of the pacifier has the age range printed right on it! Now I don't have to remember which pacifier is for what age, because lets face it, if you have a pacifier loving baby then you have a cupboard full of pacifiers. One last feature that I think it note-worthy is the appearance of the pacifier's. I happened to receive mine from the Stellar Product Testing Panel for review, so I don't know what any other colors look like. But I can say that the beautiful blue/ aqua sets I received are gorgeous. Whether you have a boy or girl, they're great for any gender.
