This Betty Crocker Spice Cake is way too easy to fall in love with. The mix comes together fast, smells like autumn moved into your kitchen, and the spices are warm without being overwhelming — just the right amount of “I totally meant to bake today.” It turns out unbelievably tasty, even if your cooking skills usually involve opening freezer doors. Add a little whipped cream or frosting on top and suddenly you’ve got a dessert that feels homemade…well, kinda... even if the box is still sitting on the counter reminding you otherwise!

Great cake mix (with some tweeks)
A nice cake mix. I add an extra egg and use butter instead of oil. I use coffee instead of water in chocolate cake. I know some folks use milk. I used water with a teaspoon of vanilla when I made this one. I also added extra spices. It's great with cream cheese frosting. Mix a softened brick of cream cheese in with your canned frosting. It keeps it from being sickenly sweet and tastes much better.
