Twelve South PowerPic mod - Wireless charging stand - 10 Watt - white

This charger is precisely made, works really well and looks great displaying a photo as well. I'm so happy to give up my charge cord for this.

I saw this and ordered it immediately - I love the idea of a charging photo frame and have generally loved Twelve South's products. Unfortunately the reality isn't quite a slam dunk - Initial setup was frustrating - the front glass plate snaps magnetically onto the frame (great!), but was taped in place in the box. Not a big deal except the tape left lots of residue on the glass frame and cover, and I cut myself on the sharp edges of the frame trying to clean off the residue. Cutting myself is probably my fault, but tape residue all over my brand new photo frame is a bummer.I set about putting a photo in the frame, which is fiddly but I guess aligning photo frames is always fiddly. Then sliding the frame into the stand is a lot fussier than I expected - the tolerances are very tight and it feels unnecessarily hard to get everything situated without knocking the cover out of alignment. But it looks great once it's all set up!Actually using it was a bit of a letdown - it's not MagSafe, so getting things aligned is less magical than I'm used to on modern wireless chargers, and I found that the stand basically doesn't work with a case (at least not my Peak Design Everything Case). A naked phone works and looks pretty good, though.The design doesn't have any affordances for the iPhone's camera hump or side buttons, so be prepared for things to look ever-so-slightly lopsided depending on your angle and case.All told - once you're setup, and depending on your case, it looks great and does what it says on the tin. But I wish it was MagSafe, worked better with cases, and was less fussy.
