Raetz works with a variety of materials and media. The phenomenon of perception is his main focus, rather than how something is represented. Prints form a major part of his oeuvre. A catalogue raisonné of Raetz’s prints has been published in 1991, covering the years 1957–1991. The new book Markus Raetz. The Prints 1951–2013 is based on this earlier publication, extending it to the period 1951–2013, covering his complete work in this genre. All entries from the earlier edition have been revised. The catalogue raisonné is complemented by a separate volume with essays by Juliane Cosandier, Matthias Frehner, Josef Helfenstein, Julie Enckell Julliard, Lauren Laz, Rainer Michael Mason, Claudine Metzger, Marie-Cécile Miessner, and Didier Semin.
