The lid a a very good rubber seal and it fits on the jar snuggly so im sure it will not leak if it gets laid on its side or what i purchased it for is to make Uncle Dan's buttermilk salad dressing which requres a large jar just like this one. For the great low price i paid i would recommend this jar.

My daughter and I collect glas jars. We have bought literally a hundred of these through the years. I always come back to this brand for all of my needs. I store everything in them. It's a good mason jar. Sometimes the lid doesn't screw on perfectly so I have to retry it another time or two. But it waa a good price and the shipping/delivery came right to my door which made it really convenient. I liked that I could just buy one and not made to buy more than that.
