From the instructions I mixed. I sprayed my rugs soaked them down. It took the odor out for approximately two days. Then I had to repeat. Everyday carpet use. I also sprayed cloth furniture. It also helps. You must repeat every couple of days to get the entire everyday smell out. I chose not to add extra. Overall I'm very satisfied with this product.
