Smart Plug - small, practical and very Smart

Bear in mind that we now own several Wemo smart switches in our home and this Smart Plug is the latest to join our collection Wemo products. Needless to say we would not be investing further in Wemo if we didn't find the product extremely useful and easy to manage and use. These new or latest Smart Plug are the smallest of all the plugs we own, and so we're excited to be able to now use them in places where we can leverage the 2nd outlet in a switch plate. Previous units were bigger and would not allow both outlets to be used, so these are game changers for us. Simple to use and simplier to setup. Just plug them in, watch for them to appear in your phone's network, select the Wemo device in your network and switch to the Wemo app to complete the setup. If it's not your first Wemo device, then the new devices will get your Network information from the Wemo app. We use them to control everything that doesn't use a soft switch to control (e.g. our coffee maker), otherwise very practical on Lamps of all sorts, etc. Good luck with yours, we love ours.

Love My Wemo Except The Setup Instructions

I have several Wemo products installed in my home. I purchased the Wemo Smart Plug to use with some outdoor lights. I found the Setup Guide that came was not very useful. In following the instructions for a manual setup I could not get past the last step to enter the Wemo code. My iPhone app continue to give me an error message over two days. Having installed other Wemo smart plugs and switches I finally realized I could use the method used for other plugs. This involves waiting for your iPhone to find the plug in your settings>wi-fi and selecting the plug. From there going back into the app allowed we to finish the setup. This detail was found nowhere on the instructions or the packaging. With this said I will remain a Wemo customer and continue to purchase plugs and switches as needed.

Requires reset every so often, still love it

Unstable. I have dozens of Wemo products in my home--I was an early adopter when they first started coming out with these smart home devices. I love them so much but every few weeks they all decide to just disconnect or stop working from the Wemo app (and sometimes also in Alexa). I end up having to reset the devices to get them to reconnect to my very solid Ubiquiti wireless network, but it's time consuming and frustrating and a couple of my devices are in hard-to-reach places making it that much more of a hassle.
