We mix a measured amount with a small amount of hot water. Stir to distribute the ligiid with the food. It makes a sort of gravy. Benji, our Havanese doesn't like it dry. Fixed this way, he eats it to the very last piece of food and licks the bowl clean.

I have a Chihuahua that I rescued from a breeder. Cricket was 8 when I adopted her and had had that many litters of puppies. She has a hernia bigger than a golf ball. When I took her to the vet for an exam they had to pull all of her teeth they were so bad.
