Highly recommended - not just a toy!

This is not a toy press - it is sturdy, well built, fully functional and sized just right for the home gardener with just a few trees. I pressed grapes on the stem, pears chopped in 1-2 inch chunks and apples that I shredded in a food processor. For perspective, it took about 40 smallish apples or pears to fill the hopper for one pressing that yielded 1.5 quarts pear or 2 quarts apple juice. A ton of fun and easy clean-up! Just so you know: it takes 20 minutes to screw all the wood slats onto the rings the first time you use it and I mounted the base on a large board (screw holes already drilled in the feet) to keep it steady. I also made additional riser blocks from scrap wood for more compression. I recommend pressing outdoors but this is a great project with kids!
