SPEKTRUM DELIVERED!!!!

This is about my 6-7th Spektrum radio, DX6-6E’s, Ix12, NX8, IX20, and now an NX10SE. The comfort of this radio is by far the best I’ve had yet, all the extras like grips, switch nuts, etc… are a nice touch but I’ll tell you what stands out the most for me and that is the absolutely perfect sticks and smooth movement. I’ve never been so completely comfortable flying a helicopter as I just was flying my 360 Fusion. It was amazing and so much fun!!! I’m thinking seriously about grabbing a second one as a spare.

5 Stars for the NX10 - No Stars for Horizon/Spektrum

So I spent the extra $250 for the gimbals. The orange grips which come uninstalled and the anodized trim pieces also uninstalled and the foam case are nice but not something I would buy. I grew up in this hobby using open gimbal Kraft, Pro Line and Logictrol radios. I miss the feel of those gimbals so I jumped at the chance to give the upgraded ones in the NX10 SE a try. Not quite the feel of an open gimbal but they are very nice once adjusted which is the reason for my negative comments for Horizon/Spektrum. The instructions for adjusting the sticks on page 48 in the manual are NOT for the upgraded gimbals. The picture doesn't match and neither do the instructions for adjustment! Now I have to take some responsibility here- The picture is just close enough that I thought I had it figured out so I unscrewed the allens on the throttle side figuring that would reveal the switches spoken of in the manual. All that did was lock up the stick! After a bit of fiddling I was able to get the allens back in and the stick released. For a few moments I thought I had ruined a brand new $8oo transmitter. Is it too much to ask that a cautionary sheet be included telling the purchaser of the NX10 SE model that the page 48 instructions are not for the SE? In addition how about raising the price of the radio $10 and include a decent power supply- There are USB micro,USB-c and standard USB chargers out there. Just saying 2-3 amps doesn't cut it. Either that or recommend a specific unit. In addition how about using allens on the tension adjusters instead of Phillips. The screws used by the manufacturers of this radio are soft and of questionable size. I have all manner of metric, standard and JIS phillips head drivers and none of them fit securely. Might I add the screws are soft and just begging for the heads to strip. It also took an inordinate number of turns to engage the throttle ratchet leading one to think it was broken. On my unit the ratchet engaged about half a turn before the screw bottomed out! I would suggest shipping the radios with the ratchet engaged . Those who want it smooth would only have to back off the screw about a turn! The radio itself is a pleasure as i am sure everyone who owns an NX knows. The gimbal upgrade is nice and if you want to treat yourself you won't be sorry.

UPDATE!!!

I left 'notenuf' review. That being said, MY apologies! My nx10, I love it. It started giving issues after 9 months, (wear n tear, & 2-3 fly days EVERY week.), so I ordered the nx10se. Smooth is the biggest understatement in the world! Aside from an iX20se, it's AS smooth! MY se has a PERMANENT spot with me forever! My nx10 needs repair. Bought the NX10SE, got to use it yesterday 10/29/2022. It IS the most precise tx I've used in my life (never used a 20se, YET!) IF u 'think' about a maneuver, u see it! Not a fan of the case or grips, but I always 'donate' anything I don't want to fellow buddies. For what 1 pays for a good tx, somebody always needs a case! The extra being is nice to have, but I'll never use it. After using my SE yesterday, it is MY ultimate transmitter, cause I can't afford an iX20, nor do t want anything android. Cell phones are bad enuf! LOL! I definitely RESEND my original review. IF it can be deleted, please delete it, as I was badly mistaken! Keep up the GREAT work Spektrum! & WE nx users are ready for programmable voice prompts FOR the nx series!
