Product details
This Side of Paradise is a novel by F. Scott Fitzgerald, first published in 1920. The story follows the life of Amory Blaine, a young man from a wealthy family who is trying to find his place in the world. The novel is divided into three parts, each of which covers a different stage of Amory's life. In the first part, Amory is a student at Princeton University, where he is popular but struggles to find his true identity. He falls in love with a girl named Rosalind, but their relationship is complicated by their different backgrounds and personalities. In the second part, Amory moves to New York City and begins a career in advertising. He becomes involved with a group of intellectuals and artists, but he still feels lost and uncertain about his future. In the third part, Amory travels to Europe and has a series of romantic and existential experiences. He eventually realizes that he needs to find his own path in life, rather than trying to conform to the expectations of others. This Side of Paradise is a deeply personal and autobiographical novel that explores themes of love, identity, and the search for meaning. It is considered a classic of American literature and helped to establish Fitzgerald as one of the leading writers of the early 20th century.1920. Fitzgerald is considered one of the most gifted serious writers of his generation. He became known for his novels and stories of the 1920s; he called it the Jazz Age and described it as a new generation grown up to find all Gods dead, all wars fought, all faiths in man shaken. This Side of Paradise is a description of life at Princeton among the glittering, bored, and disillusioned post-World War I lost generation, and is the novel that rocketed Fitzgerald to stardom.
