Review written after 4 1/2 Months of Use
Pros:
1. Works as specified in Manufacturer's Data Sheet.
2. Fast access to files. Reading and writing speed is close to that on your local drive.
3. Numerous features and settings. Can be customized to most computing environments.
4. Solid metal construction (except for flimsy plastic door to drives).
5. Buffalo U.S. based Telephone Tech Support is available 24 hours per Day/7 Days per Week.
Cons:
1. Preconfigured to RAID 5. If you change the RAID Setup, the Drives could take as long as 20 Hours (not a misprint) to Resync.
2. When changing settings (e.g., adding a new User or Network Share), the User Interface is slow (it takes several seconds to process a change in settings).
3. Not compatible with all UPS devices. As of the date of this review, only certain APC and OMRON UPS device are supported.
Summary:
Works as specified in the Manufacturer's Data Sheet and a great value. I would definitely purchase this item again if the need for a second NAS arises.
