Digitally remastered and expanded edition 1981 release, the third album from the soul/funk outfit. Before the sessions took place, Paul Service left the group and was replaced (on the recordings) by Chris Parker as well as Howard King. This time, producer Simpson brought to the studio a few heavy hitters - percussionist Ralph MacDonald & arranger Ray Chew. quot;Shakequot;, an absolute killer boogie tune, was the first single (#23/R&B). Other mid-tempo boogie tunes are quot;Shy Babyquot; (with a great instrumental chorus), quot;Boogie Shoogie Feelin', and quot;I Love (The Skin You're In)quot; - the latter, written by the late Kenny Nolan (of quot;Peacefulquot; fame), was recorded by Tavares a year later for their album New Directions. Face To Face peaked at #18 on the R&B album charts but it didn't sell as well as GQ'S first two efforts. Afterwards, Arista released a best-of collection and the group left the label.
